Type locality: Malaysia, Fraser´s Hill .

Anthaxia (Merocratus) longipilis: Bílý, 1999: 234 (taxonomy); Bellamy, 2008: 1418 (catalogue).

Described for the single male from West Malasia (Pahang). Recently collected in Indonesia: Sumatra, Padang, Harau Valley, cca 20 km N of Payakumbuh, 600–800 m, viii.2006, S. Jákl leg. (4 males, 1 female).

No substantial sexual dichromatism was observed; the female possesses very weak green lustre of the dorsal surface (bright violet elytral pattern in the male).

Distribution: Indonesia (Sumatra) (new country record), Malaysia (Pahang).
