Molossops

Both of the species of Molossops that we captured at Paracou belong to the subgenus Cynomops, the contents of which have never been subjected to modern revisionary treatment. Table 60 summarizes the diagnostic traits of the four species that we recognize based on the literature and our examination of representative museum specimens. All of the substantive taxonomic difficulties we encountered concern the three smaller species, an extended commentary on which is provided below in the account for M. paranus .
