Jogocerus freytagi Viraktamath 1979a: 19, figs 1–12.

Diagnosis. Greenish yellow, robust leafhoppers with round spots on fore margin of crown, basal triangles on mesonotum and one small round spot anterad of scutoscutellar suture, black. Male pygofer with well-developed dorsal apodemes on anterior margin, anal collar process broadly hook-like and ventral pygofer processes well-developed.Aedeagus with one pair of short subapical processes each with basal short spur, and with ventral marginal ridge in basal half. Other characters as in generic diagnosis.

Material examined. HOLOTYPE ♂, INDIA: Karnataka: Jog Falls, 17.xi.1976, C.A. Viraktamath Coll. (UASB). Other material: 5 ♂, 16 ♀, Kodaymalai nr Bantwal, 15.i.1984, S. Viraktamath (UASB).

Remarks. Viraktamath (979a) adequately described the species based on specimens collected from Jog Falls. Gnaneswaran (2021) reported this species from Ibbagamuwa, Sri Lanka on the plant Murraya paniculata (L.) Jacq. ( Rutaceae).
