Figs 22A–H, 61H, 66I–L.

Idioscopus irenae Viraktamath 1980: 231, figs 17–23.

Diagnosis. Head and thorax bright lemon yellow. Forewing with longitudinal stripes of greenish yellow on corium and yellowish green, and reddish stripes on clavus, claval suture whitish. Male pygofer with most of ventral margin folded mesad then slightly beyond distal half produced into a short spine-like ventral process. Aedeagus with well-developed dorsal apodeme, aedeagal shaft compressed, with subapical pair of retrose processes arising on lateral surface and about 0.33 as long as shaft.

Description. Female. Sternite VII about 2.4× as wide at base as long medially, convex, with median slight concavity on posterior margin (Fig. 61H). Valvula I thin and long, posteriorly narrowed to an acute point, sculptured area occupying almost distal half length, strigae oblique occupying only dorsal 0.33 width of valvula (Figs 66I,J). Valvula II straight, slightly humped at mid region, toothed area occupying distal 0.33 length, each tooth small smooth, widely separated from each other (Figs 66 KL).

Material examined. HOLOTYPE ♂, INDIA: Meghalaya: Mawsmai Caves, 20. iv.1978, Coll. I. Dworakowska (UASB). Other material. 1♂, 1♀, same data as for holotype but collectd on 25.ii.1999 (UASB).

Remarks. Viraktamath (1979a) adequately described and illustrated the male genitalia. This colorful species resembles some species of Balocha but this species lacks the pedunculate third apical cell with a black spot found in the forewing of Balocha . This species shares paired processes with other members of this group namely I. pretiosus and I. virescens, but has distinctive coloration. I. pretiosus and I. irenae have very similar male genitalia, but the former lacks a male pygofer ventral process and also has a round black spot on the forewing outer apical cell that is absent in the latter. I. virescens has the aedeagus with lateral lamellate expansions which are absent in I. irenae .
