Carineta argentea Walker 1852: 1132 . (Ega on the Amazon, Brazil)

REMARKS. A small species (body length less than 20 mm) that is unique in the large spot of infuscation on the apex of both the fore wings and hind wings and distal anal cell 2 of the hind wing.

DISTRIBUTION. The species has been reported from Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru (Metcalf 1963c; Sanborn 2013). Jacobi (1907; 1951) reported the species from Pachitea.

MATERIAL EXAMINED. “ Pan de Azucar / Dept. Pasco, PERU / July 12–13, 1961 / F.S. Truxal ” one male (AFSC).
