Type species. Adusella signata Haupt 1918: 84 . (Catamarca, Argentina)

REMARKS. The genus was recently resurrected for the southern group of species previously assigned to Odopoea Stå 1, 1861 (Sanborn 2019b). Edholmbergia was synonymized at the same time (Sanborn 2019b). The species of Adusella can be distinguished from the other Peruvian cicada taxa by the lateral extensions of the pronotum and the three tarsomeres (Sanborn 2019b).

DISTRIBUTION. Species of the genus have been recorded from Argentina, Bolivia and Peru (Metcalf 1963a; Duffels & van der Laan 1985; Sanborn 2013; 2019b; Sanborn & Heath 2014).
