Proarna strigicollis Jacobi 1907: 6 . (Colombia)

REMARKS. This is the third of the three small (body length less than 20 mm) species of Peruvian Proarna . It can be distinguished from P. dactyliophora in that P. strigicollis has a larger body size (body length about 19.5–22 mm vs. 16–17 mm, wingspan about 56 mm vs. 45 mm), a spot of infuscation on mediocubital crossvein of the fore wing, a large primary spine on the fore femora, and a timbal cover extending to the anterior margin of the timbal covering the anterior timbal rather than about three-quarters of the timbal length with the anterior timbal exposed. It can be distinguished from P. invaria (Walker, 1850) by the lack of infuscation along the fore wing crossveins, distal veins between apical cells, and on the ambient vein.

DISTRIBUTION. The species has been reported previously from Colombia (Metcalf 1963a; Sanborn 2013) with recent records expanding the distribution to include Bolivia (Sanborn 2019b). These records begin to fill in the gap in the known distribution.
