Guyalna chlorogena (Walker, 1850) new record

Fidicina chlorogena Walker 1850: 88 . (Unknown locality)

Fidicina basispes Walker 1858a: 15 . (Tapayos, Brazil)

REMARKS. The largest of the Peruvian species of Guyalna with body lengths of 30–32 mm and fore wing lengths of 43–45 mm. It is also divergent from the majority of Guyalna species in having male opercula with the posterior margin extended that roughly form an equilateral triangle rather than forming a right angle triangle (Sanborn 2016a). The holotype is illustrated in Sanborn (2016d).

DISTRIBUTION. The species has been reported previously from Brazil (Metcalf 1963a; Sanborn 2013; 2016a). Additional new records for the species are provided here for French Guiana to give a more complete species distribution since these specimens were not available for the previous faunal studies of French Guiana (Sanborn 2011a; 2016b).
