Remarks

Blackman & Eastop (2006) treated Protaphis as a subgenus of Aphis while Blackman & Eastop (2022), Nieto Nafría et al. (2011), and Favret (2023) considered it as a separate genus based on body morphology, host specificity, and biological characteristics.
