Synonym: Manuelcypris punctata (Keyser 1975) Yoo et al. 2017 .

Type locality: Marco Island, Florida, United States (25º57’45” N, 81º43’45” W). Holotype — ZMH, K–30332.

In Venezuela: at the following localities according to Broodbakker (1982, 1983b, 1984a): SUCRE State —WH 1936/?, Chacopata, Araya Peninsula (GN 10º40’37” N, 63º49’05” W). LA BLANQUILLA Island—S 1982/08b, open pit dug in clay, probably permanent, no locality details (GN 11°50’57” N, 64°36’06” W).

Remarks: geographical distribution of the species includes the Caribbean Islands, such as Antigua and Barbuda, Martinique, St. Kitts, St. Martin, Anguilla, Turks and Caicos, United States (Florida), Venezuela (Broodbakker 1982, 1983b), Guatemala (Pérez et al. 2010), and Mexico (Yucatan Peninsula) (Cohuo et al. 2016).
