Almeida et al. (2023) reported that Karanovic (2011) correctly decided that the species of Physocypria from Neotropical do not belong to this genus. The above authors reinstate the validity of Keysercypria Karanovic 2011, and support the inclusion of two species in this genus, K. deformis (Klie 1940b) and K. schubarti (Farkas 1958), besides the type species, K. affinis (Klie 1933) . This species is documented as an accompanying fauna of Hemicypris exigua and Diaphanocypris meridana (Broodbakker 1983a, 1984b). Based on information from Hummelinck (1940), it is assumed that sample WH 1936/30 was collected on Iguana Island, Los Testigos Archipelago (Venezuela).
