Type material of Octonoba xihua (examined). Holotype ♁ (coll. no. Dac 2011-2), CHINA: Hainan Island, Dacheng, Xihua Village, 6.IV.2011, leg. A. T. Barrion et al.

Description and diagnosis. See Mu et al. (2016) for a redescription of the female, a description of the male, and a diagnosis of both sexes.

Distribution. China (Yunnan and Hainan).

Comments. The male holotype of O. xihua was studied and found to be consistent with the male of M. subspinigera, so we consider O. xihua syn. nov. to be a junior synonym of M. subspinigera .
