Type material of Leucauge talagangiba (examined). Holotype ♀ (coll. no. S093), CHINA: Hainan Island, Panja Town, Songtao Reservoir, 3.IV.2011, leg. A. T. Barrion et al .; Paratypes: 4 ♀ (coll. nos. S095–S-97) 1 juvenile (coll. no. S094), same data as holotype .

Description and diagnosis. See Zhu et al. (2003) for a description and diagnosis of both sexes.

Distribution. China (Yunnan and Hainan).

Comments. The type material of L. talagangiba was examined and no differences between the females of L. tanikawai and L. talagangiba were observed. Thus, we consider L. talagangiba syn. nov. to be a junior synonym of L. tanikawai .
