11. Notylia bernoullii Schlechter (1918) .

Notylia guatemalensis Schlechter (1918) nom. illeg.

Type:— GUATEMALA. Retalhuleu [“Retatuleu”]: s. loc., January 1878, K.G. Bernoulli & O.R. Cario 649 (holotype: B destroyed).

Notes: —Schlechter (1918) named N. bernoullii based on the material collected by Bernoulli and Cario 649 in Guatemala without indicating the holotype or informing where it was deposited, and gave no description or diagnosis, thus making the name not validly published. Later, based on the same material, he described the species and named it N. guatemalensis . However, it remained not validly published as it became homonymous with the species already described by Watson (1887). It is likely that the material used by Schlechter to describe the species was destroyed in Berlin during World War II (Butzin 1978, 1980).
