24. Notylia ecuadorensis Schlechter (1917: 59) .
Type:— ECUADOR. s. loc, s.d., A. Mille 1912 (B destroyed). Neotype (designated here):— ECUADOR: Morona-Santiago, September 1987, M. Whitten 955 (QCNE 11351!).
Notes: — Schlechter (1917) described N. ecuadorensis without informing the herbarium where the deposit was made, but it is known that he preferred the collection at B. As the type specimen of N. ecuadorensis is believed to have been destroyed during World War II (Butzin 1978, 1980), a neotype designation is required. Therefore, the sample collected by Whitten et al. 955, deposited in the collection at QCNE, is designated as a neotype here because it was collected in the type locality.
