Type:— BRAZIL. s. loc., s.d., A.F.M. Glaziou 18521 (lectotype, designated here: P barcode P00455997!; isolectotypes: BM barcode 000534549!, BR barcode BR0000006572488!, K barcode K000586292!, P barcode P00455998!) .

Notes: — Cogniaux (1904) described the species without indicating the holotype and herbarium where the deposit occurred. The original gathering was located in the collections at the herbaria P, BR, K, and BM. The sample from P with the barcode P 00455977 is the best preserved and is abundant in flowers and that is why it is designate here as a lectotype.
