Borbonia ericifolia Linnaeus, Plantae Rariores Africanae: 14. 1760.
["Habitat ad Cap. b. spei."] Sp. Pl., ed. 2, 2: 994 (1763). RCN: 5181.
Lectotype (Schrire in Turland & Jarvis in Taxon 46: 466. 1997): "Genista foliis Ericae brevissimis reris, fl. numeris. Old. ", Herb. Burman (G) .
Current name: Amphithalea ericifolia (L.) Eckl. & Zeyh. ( Fabaceae: Faboideae).
Note: Granby (in Opera Bot. 80: 28. 1985) designated a neotype, presumably believing that no original material existed for the name. However, two sheets (both confirmed as to their identity by Granby) in Herb. Burman (G) are believed to be relevant original material, and one of them has been designated as lectotype by Schrire.
