Stratiomyia nasuta Macquart, 1850: 351; plate III, fig. 4 (habitus). Syntypes: 2 males (MNHN). Type locality: Bolivia, Chiquitos (see Fachin et al. 2021: 6 for correction of the type locality).

Material examined. Paraguay: 1 ♂, San Pedro, [Estancia] Carumbé, 10.i–10.ii.1973, Col. R. Golbach (MZUSP) .
Distribution. Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Panama, Paraguay (San Pedro: Estancia Carumbé).
Comments. This male specimen compared to the male syntypes from Bolivia only differ in the size of the semitranslucent areas over the abdomen. The whitish spot on tergites 2–3 is larger in our specimen from Paraguay, while it is slender in one syntype for which a dorsal image is available (Fachin et al. 2021: 7, fig. 1).
