Taeromys hamatus (Miller and Hollister 1921)

Type Locality: Indonesia, C Sulawesi, Gunung Lehio, 6000 ft (1830 m).

Vernacular Names: Central Mountain Taeromys.

Distribution: Sulawesi: known only from a few montane localities in the central core of the island, 1280-2287 m; absent from lowland tropical evergreen rainforest formations.

Conservation: IUCN – Vulnerable.

Discussion: Closest relative is T. taerae from the NE peninsular highlands.
