Type Locality: Egypt, Sinai, S of El Arish.

Vernacular Names: Flower's Gerbil.

Distribution: Known only from the type locality.

Conservation: IUCN – Critically Endangered.

Discussion: Subgenus Gerbillus . Usually considered a synonym of G. pyramidum, but Lay (1983) explained why it should not be united with that species (in his comments under G. pyramidum). Reviewed by Pavlinov et al. (1990).
