Type Locality: Somalia, Gerlogobi.

Vernacular Names: Dunn's Gerbil.

Distribution: Ethiopia, Somalia, Djibouti (Pearch et al., 2001).

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Subgenus Gerbillus . The conspecificity of dunni with G. latastei was suggested, without supporting evidence, by Cockrum (1977), but Lay (1983) noted that the latter's geographic range lies more than 4000 km from that of G. dunni . Yalden et al. (1996) included dunni in G. pulvinatus . Chromosomal data documented by Capanna and Merani (1981).
