9. Leucothoe incisa Robertson, 1892
Materials examined. 66 individuals; Stations Vas. 1(1), 2(3), 5(4), 9(3), 11(1), 12(3), 17(5), 19(2), 20(11), 21(2), 25(3), 28(4), 31(8), 32(2), 35(1), 37(4), 38(5), 39(2), 40 (2).
Distribution. Atlanto-Mediterranean (Bellan-Santini & Ruffo 2003). The species is reported in Cyprus for the first time. In Vasiliko Bay L. incisa is considered to be a common species (FI: 45.23 %).
Ecology. In Vasiliko Bay it was found at depths of 4–48 m (20 + 14 m), in muddy sand and sandy substrate, with organic matter ranging between 1.93–8.42 % (4.827 + 2.218 %) and in association with C. prolifera, C. cylindracea and C. nodosa . It was found in stations classified according to the Bentix Index as in: “high” (5 stations, 8 individuals), “good” (5 stations, 18 individuals) and “moderate” (9 stations, 40 individuals). It was recorded at the fish farm stations (9 individuals), ports (8 individuals), at the freshwater and power station outlets (3 individuals) and the buoy (2 individuals).
