4. Peltocoxa gibbosa (Schiecke, 1977)
Materials examined. 2 individuals; Stations Vas. 33(1), 41(1).
Distribution. Atlanto-Mediterranean (Bellan-Santini & Ruffo 2003; Christodoulou et al. 2013). The species is reported in Cyprus for the first time. In Vasiliko Bay it is considered to be a rare species (FI: 4.76 %).
Ecology. In Vasiliko Bay it was found at depths of 32 and 40 m (36 + 6 m), in muddy sand substrate with organic matter ranging between 8.848 % and 11.119 % (9.983 + 1.605 %) and in association with C. prolifera . It was found in stations classified as “moderate” according to the Bentix Index.
