Eurosiberian species social parasite mainly on B. lapidarius and B. sichelii (Rasmont 1988) . Its populations are in regression, but despite that, the species is not considered threatened at a continental scale: Least Concern in the IUCN Red List of European Bees (Rasmont et al. 2015).
