Comments.

The species has a wide distributional range in central and southern Angola (Marques et al. 2018). The Angolan population was for some time treated as Sclerophrys maculata (Hallowell, 1854), until Poynton et al. (2016) established that S. maculata is restricted to West Africa, while S. pusilla is mainly distributed across eastern and southern Africa, including Angola. This species is common in Serra da Neve and its surroundings. It is usually found near leaf litter.
