Alborz (Gapon 2008), Ardabil, Kermanshah, Kordestan, Kuhgiloyeh & Boyerahmad, Sistan & Baluchestan (Hoberlandt 1997 as inaequale), Fars (Hoberlandt 1955, as inaequale, 1997; Wagner 1968 as inaequale; Linnavuori 2012), Guilan (Linnavuori 2008), Kerman (Wagner 1968 as inaequale; Hoberlandt 1997 as inaequale), Khorasan, Tehran (Hoberlandt 1959 as inaequale, 1997; Linnavuori 2008), Mazandaran (Hoberlandt 1997), Qazvin (Gapon 2008), Iran (no locality cited) (Rider 2006 as both names).

General distribution. Pontian: Syria, Jordan, Central Asia from Asian Turkey to China; according to Rider (2006) extending to European parts of Russia and Kazakhstan

Host plants. On Astragalus sp. ( Fabaceae) (Wagner 1968 as inaequale), Platanus sp. ( Platanaceae), Populus sp., Salix sp. (both Salicaceae) (Linnavuori 2008), in a mountain steppe on a shore of a salt lake with rich vegetation of Cyperus sp. ( Cyperaceae), Juncus sp. ( Juncaceae), Phragmites sp. ( Poaceae) (Linnavuori 2012).
