DISTRIBUTION: N. Great Plains; Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba (Canada), south to Kansas, Illinois, and Indiana (U.S.A.).

COMMENT: Subgenus Poliocitellus; see Hall, 1981:397. Gromov et al., 1965:155, considered Poliocitellus a subgenus of the genus Ictidomys .
