DISTRIBUTION: Montane regions of W. China, Nepal, and N. India to Ladak.

COMMENT: Placed by Ellerman and Morrison-Scott, 1951:515, and Corbet, 1978:81, in bobak, but geographically separated from that species; evidence for specific status in Gromov et al., 1965:332-356; see comment under baibacina .
