COMMENT: Burt and Stirton, 1961, Mise. Publ. Mus. Zool. Univ. Mich., 117: 52, included pygacanthus in grandis; Russell, 1968, Univ. Kans. Publ. Mus. Nat. Hist., 16(6):477-579, considered pygacanthus a distinct species and is followed here.
