Remarks.
Ahl (1931a: 40) mentioned a series of 47 specimens from “Bukoba” including the “Type” . We failed to locate 23 of these specimens. He also lists 11 additional specimens that we could not locate, as well as a second specimen from "Mohasi See", coll. Schubotz and two specimens without locality or collector information. Drawings of seven specimens showing the variation of this taxon are published by Ahl (1931b: 298, fig. 173). These have been copied from Tornier (1896, pl. 4, specimen no. 26-28 and 30-33). Another two paratypes, MCZ A-17648 and 17626, from “Bukoba” collected during the first "Deutsche Zentral-Afrika-Expedition", 1907-1908 were sent in exchange to MCZ in 1932 (Barbour and Loveridge 1946: 129).
