Heterixalus variabilis (Ahl, 1930a).

Remarks.

One of the 12 syntypes mentioned by Ahl (1930a: 527) could not be located. Pollen, a Dutch merchant and naturalist, undertook expeditions to Madagascar and its offshore islands in the Mozambique Channel, as well as trips to the Comoros, Mascarenes and Réunion . He collected various botanical and zoological objects between 1863 and 1866 (Pollen 1867, 1868; Rosenberg 1886). His collections are held today by the BMNH, RMNH and ZMB.
