Distribution in mainland China: FJ, GD, GX, GZ, HA, HN, JS, JX, SC, YN, ZJ. (Chu & Zhang 1997).

Other distribution. Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and introduced into Australia, USA and Europe. (Borowski & Węgrzynowicz 2007, 2012)

Biology. The species mainly attacked bamboo and bamboo products, but has also been reported infected Chinese herbal medicine (Liu 2013). In temperate Asia, the species usually has an annual life cycle, passing the winter as adult (Liu et al. 2008a).
