Distribution in mainland China: HN (Chen 2011). New record for GX #, Guilin, Yàn mountain. 13.iv.1953 [no collector] (1♂)(IOZ).

Other distribution. India, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia (Sulawesi) (Beaver et al. 2011).

Biology. The biology of most Phonapate species is poorly known. The only recorded host is Calycopteris floribunda (Roxb.) Lam. (Beeson & Bhatia 1937) .
