(1964: 12); subsequently recorded as Myctophum punctatum Rafinesque by Mouneimné (1977: 61); as Myctophum punctatum Rafinesque 1810 by Mouneimné (2002: 84–85); recently recorded as Myctophum punctatum by Bariche et al. (2007: 112); as Myctophum punctatum by Bariche et al. (2009: 3). Material in collection: AUBM.

Distribution. North Atlantic to the Arctic region; Mediterranean Sea, Sea of Marmara.
