Pepsis cybele Banks (black-winged variant)
ECUADOR: Napo Province, east side of Rio Napo, 3 km SW of San Vincente de Puerto Rico; 14 May 2006; J. Dougherty (ecology.org). Host: Paratropis cf scruposa Simon ( Paratropididae), adult or subadult female. A series of photographs shows the wasp either standing by the paralyzed paratropid spider or dragging it backward on the ground, ventral side upward, grasping its coxa with her mandibles (Dougherty 2006; J. Dougherty, Androscoggin Valley Hospital, Berlin, New Hampshire, 2019 pers. comm.).
