Luciola bourgeoisi Olivier 1895

Luciola bourgeoisi Olivier. McDermott 1966: 100 . Ballantyne et al. 2016 Tables 6, 7.

Type. CHINA. Not located .

Remarks. This species was described as 8 mm long and relatively wide (length/width of 2/1) with a pale dorsal surface and even paler elytral apices. Olivier’s description of the last abdominal segment as triangular might indicate he was describing a female. Ballantyne et al. (2016) addressed but rejected the possibility that this species with the last abdominal ventrite triangular, could be Triangulara frontoflava Pimpasalee. They felt it might have been based on specimens approaching Luciola brahmina Bourgeois.
