Distribution. South Africa (Herrich-Schaeffer 1844).

Comment. The drawing of Sciocoris planus by Herrich-Schaeffer (1844: Plate CCXLIII: Fig. 755) differs markedly from that given for Halys plana by Herrich-Schaeffer (1840: Plate CLXIX: Fig. 519) and undoubtedly represent different species.
