Tettigades dumfriesi Distant 1920: 169 (type material examined).
Type locality. Argentine side of the Andes, about 6,000 ft (1829 m) above sea level.
Remarks. The species is known only from Argentina with specimens collected in Chubut, Mendoza, and Río Negro Provinces (Torres 1958a). We collected specimens in Mendoza, Neuquén and Río Negro Provinces. The species is associated with the Monte and Patagonian floristic provinces (Sanborn et al. 2011a).
