Type species. Cicada cinctomaculata Stål, 1854 (Venezuela) .

Remarks. Representatives of the genus have been reported in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela (Metcalf 1963b; Duffels & van der Laan 1985; Sanborn 2007a; 2010a; 2013).
