Remarks. The genus is spread over most of tropical South and Central America and into the Caribbean with species reported from the Antilles, Argentina, Brazil, Hispaniola, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Peru (Metcalf 1963a; Sanborn 2006a; 2007b; 2013).
