Diagnosis. Forewing length is 12–13 mm in males and 13–13.5 mm in females. Externally, the species is characterized by the broad forewing and presence of a well-developed transverse line being slightly wavy; forewing ground color is dark brown in males and brown with dove-colored irroration in females. The male genitalia of T. oblitterans are characterized by their juxta having very deep trigonal apical concavity, very short vinculum, long twisted lobe of the saccular process apex, and broad vesica. The female genitalia are characterized by the presence of a broad antevaginal plate, elongated and moderately sclerotized ductus bursae, and very large appendix bursae having broad basal section and strongly twisted distal section.

Distribution. The species is reliably known from Sri Lanka and India. The records for Thailand (Černý & Pinratana 2009) belong to T. montanebula . According to the genitalia drawing (Fang 2000, fig. 175), the record for China is erroneous and belongs to an undetermined member of the Dolgoma reticulata species-group.
