Recognition characters: Brownish yellow species; length 9–12 mm; mystax yellowish white; thorax brownish yellow pollinose; scutellar setae lacking; scutellar bristles 6–8, yellowish white; wings hyaline; abdomen brownish yellow pollinose, lateral bristles on first abdominal segment yellowish; legs reddish brown, femora and tibiae black above.

FREMONT: 16 km S of Shoshoni, 16 June 1972 (RJL) (female with winged ant as prey).
