Thrymoserica Brenske, 1900a *: 78 (type species by monotypy: Thrymoserica fabulosa Brenske, 1901); Dalla Torre 1912: 47.

Remark. Thrymoserica was grouped by Brenske (1898) in the same couplet with two other genera, Bilga Fairmaire, 1893 and Doxocalia (in Brenske 1898: unavailable name) while it was not mentioned elsewhere, nor in association with any species name. Thus, the genus name became available only after Brenske (1900a) properly diagnosed it in a key.
