Euphoresia Brenske, 1900a *: 77 (type species by subsequent designation: Trochalus maculiscutum Fairmaire, 1891; Burgeon 1942b: 199); Dalla Torre 1912: 45; Frey 1968: 159, 1972b: 144; Krajcik 2012: 106.

Remarks. Euphoresia was diagnosed by Brenske (1898) in the same couplet with two other genera, Emphania Blanchard, 1850 and Cyphoserica (in Brenske 1898: unavailable name) while it was not mentioned elsewhere nor in association with any species name. Thus, the genus name became available only with Brenske (1900a) when it was properly diagnosed in a key.
