Description of Pseudoalteromonas lipolytica EC 2D12

Cells are Gram-stain-negative, non-flagellated, nonpigmented and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, transparent, smooth, umbonate and cream colored after incubation for 3 days on MA at 25℃. Positive for nitrate reduction, esculin hydrolysis and gelatin hydrolysis, but negative for indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease and β -galactosidase in API 20NE. Does not utilize D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N-acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid. Strain EC2D12 (= NIBRBAC000498484) was isolated from an Ecklonia cava sample, Yeosu, Korea.
