Diagnosis. Length about 1.7–2.0 mm. Body (Fig. 1 D) dark brown to black; elytra and legs paler than other parts. Head. Slightly transverse, approximately 1.1–1.2 times as wide as long, widest across eyes, narrower than pronotum; eyes distinctly large and prominent, about 1.5 times as long as temples; infraorbital carina complete. Antennae slightly longer than head and pronotum combined; antennomeres 1–3 elongate, 4–10 subquadrate to slightly transverse, 11 longest, about as long as preceding two combined. Thorax. Pronotum approximately 1.3–1.4 times as wide as long, widest at middle; hypomera fully visible in lateral aspect. Elytra slightly transverse, slightly wider than pronotum; elytron approximately 1.6–1.7 times as long as wide; postero-lateral margin almost straight. Abdomen. Subparallel-sided, widest at middle; surface glossy and densely pubescent, with reticulate microsculpture; macrochaetal arrangement of tergites II–VI 02-03-13 -13-13; male tergite VIII with four macrosetae on each side of midline, posterior margin with four short processes; posterior margin of female tergite VIII slightly emarginate; posterior margin of female sternite VIII subtruncate, with conspicuous and long marginal setae. Aedeagus. Median lobe ovate and widest at middle, apical process elongate, rounded at apex in ventral aspect. Spermatheca. Securiform, with small and elongate umbilicus; duct slightly coiled at apex.

Material examined. NORTH KOREA: 5 exx., Korea 1974 Kymgang-san 100, 17/vi. As [North Korea, Gangwon Prov., Mt. Geumgangsan, 17 vi 1974, A. Szeptycki].

Distribution. Korea (North), China (Beijing, Hong Kong, Jiangsu, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Yunnan, Zhejiang), Japan, Nepal and Oriental region.

Remarks. Atheta (Datomicra) lewisiana is similar to A. (D.) celata, A. (D.) dadopora and A. (D.) nigra, but can be distinguished by the characters provided in the key and different shape and structure of aedeagus and spermatheca (See Yosii & Sawada, 1976: Figs. 3 I–L, 3O; Pace, 1986: Fig. 45). This species was recorded by Paśnik (2001) in North Korea and no specimen has been collected in South Korea.
