Remarks. Platerodrilus svetae, being similar in general appearance to P. apicalis Pic, 1936 and P. piceicollis Pic, 1943, also from Borneo, can be separated from both by the narrow, parallel-sided antennomeres, distinguishable from the former also by the different type of the aedeagus. The second species, P. piceicollis, from an unidentified locality on Borneo, which was erroneously cited as originating from India and not used for comparison (Kazantsev, 2009), cannot be attributed to any aedeagus-based group due to the absence of abdomen in the unique type specimen (Masek et Bocak, 2014).
