Type data: This species was described based on males collected in northern Brazil. A syntype is housed at NHMUK and is here designated the lectotype. Type data: Moure et al. (2007) mentioned that this species was described based on a single female specimen from “Rio Tapajós”, northern Brazil. According to the original description, Smith (1874) used a type series composed by at least one specimen of each sex. A female syntype was found at NHMUK being here designated the lectotype. The specimen has the following data label: Type H. T. [red-rimmed circular label, printed]\ B.M. TYPE HYM. [printed] 17B.932 [handwritten]\ [circular label] Braz Tapajos [handwritten]\ Centris concinna Smith (Type) . [handwritten]. The current status and depository of the paralectotype (s) is unknown. The lectotype is in good condition and is coded NHMUK 010812621 in the NHMUK data portal.
