Diagnosis. Adult (Fig. 15). Wingspan 18.0–21.0 mm. Agonopterix angelicella is characterised by the forewing with a black stripe from before the outer margin of the cell extending obliquely to the tornus. It can be hardly distinguished from A. paraselini Buchner, 2017 (Buchner 2017b) superficially, but can be separated by the transtilla not or indistictly widened near middle (Fig. 38), which is distinctly widened near middle in A. paraselini (Buchner 2017b: 94, figs 65−66). It is more similar to A. ochrocephala Saito, 1980, and the differences between them are stated in the diagnosis of the latter species.
Distribution. China (Xinjiang), Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, northern and middle Europe (Lvovsky 2001a).
