Simulium (Simulium) maenoi Takaoka & Choochote, 2002: 115 –120 (Female, male, pupa and larva); Takaoka et al., 2014b: 746 –747.

Distribution. Thailand and Vietnam (Vinh Phuc).

Remarks. This species was originally described from Thailand (Takaoka and Choochote 2002). The record from Vietnam was based on three females captured in Tam Dao National Park, Vinh Phuc Province, while flying around a human (Takaoka et al. 2014b). The aquatic stages remain to be collected from Vietnam .
